Not knowing any details would please Will just fine. He watched for the other two to take their seats before he sat down himself. The food smelled heavenly and it was proof how long he'd been away from the warm smell. It was taken suitable control not to simply grab the meat and have at it.
"Thank you, Father. It's...more then I bargained for."
Abel chuckled and wagged a teasing finger at Will.
"It's just Abel here," he remarked before sitting down at the table and started serving food. He was too use to playing host to think about letting someone else dish up the food or even let them get their own dinners.
James rolled his eyes at the "father" comment, half-laughing. He had treated Abel the same way when he'd first arrived, although that had worn off as soon as the other man had taken him out for drinks.
"There are some advantages here, at least. The food is much better than anything aboard a ship."
Okay once he's served he can enjoy the food. Some table manners are still left so he waits to finish chewing before answering, "Much better indeed." He'll remember to call you Abel...eventually.
Abel shook his head. "I can't begin to understand what life aboard a ship would be like. James has tried to explain it to me, but it's as foriegn to me as flying is to James."
He grinned. "But I think I'm wearing him down on that aspect."
"In my world, they have built a vehicle that would carry them aloft. In our ancient times, it was a large cylander with wings that would carry hundreds of people at once, but now, we travel by dirgible," Abel explained with a smile. He was not going to mention the Iron Maiden or space travel at the moment.
"That's a large balloon filled with a special gas that lifts it off the ground and people travel in the large container tied underneath it. It's sort of like a ship with a giant gas bag carrying it through the air."
"A man could also fly if he had wings," James commented mildly. To Will, it would probably seem like a pointless whimsy -- the sort of thing James would usually not engage in. But Abel, at least, would get the hidden joke.
He can't hide his enthusiasm for airships, though, no matter how he tried. "Abel has shown me the schematics for such a ship. It's very impressive." Almost as good as the ocean.

To say nothing of the company.
